"What
are you waiting for?" That was the question that led me to join RCIA
in 2005.
I was at mass with my then boyfriend (now
husband). During the homily, the priest talked about baptism and asked the
question, "If anyone here has not been baptized, what are you waiting
for?"
I thought to myself-- What am I waiting for?? The question stayed with me throughout the mass. When mass was over, I turned to my boyfriend and told him how deeply the homily affected me. Right then and there I decided that I needed to be baptized. That year I joined RCIA and was baptized at the Easter Vigil of 2006.

Although eight years sounds like a long time, I
still feel like I have so much to learn about the Catholic faith. The more I
learn, the more I love it. And I want to share it with everyone. It’s so
fascinating and gives me great joy. As Pope Francis said, “A Christian is never
bored or sad. Rather, the one who loves Christ is full of joy and radiates joy.”
Here's a couple photos from my baptism at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in downtown Los Angeles, CA.
Are you waiting for someone to invite you to be baptized? Or is there someone you know that could use an invitation? Go for it!
